Girl Power Y'all!

Female characters have come a long way since the birth of  video game console. Made up by pixels and great mind of game designers, the female characters have play significant role in the game title. However, people often blame video games for bad influence on kids with violence content and crime glorification. One of the bad influences that newly added is female degradation. As world constantly promote gender equality to ensure men and women have equal authority in career and education, it is inevitable that we will have the first prime minister in Malaysia in the future. The critics have been critiquing the video game companies to sex up the female role into scantily clad woman in order to attract male customers to buy the game installment.
Dead is sexy. Period. And girls must always wait for their prince charming to save their life while girls being princess and sit in the castle forever. Just look at Princess Peach from Super Mario.
Save me! I am a princess and wears pink dress.

OK, I am a feminist. There I say it. I do worship girl power to an extent to believe that girl should do what they want regardless what other people might say to them not to do it. My mum is women too, you know! Unfortunately, video games are pure business in entertainment industry, so unless there is a significant sign for customers to adept female main protagonist, the game companies will continue to promote male leads for video games. Also, male gamers have always been outnumbered female gamers in scale of 9 to 1, which make this situation even harder. So until today, the video game formula is pretty much summed up to shooting game with muscle dude equipped with laser gun, completed with hideous creatures and aliens, wait! One thing for more, eye candy of almost naked girl behaves in a hyper sexual way to titillate pre-pubescent teenage boys' sexual imagination
While not all hope lost, there are few standouts that deserve praise for promote strong female lead role in the video games. They are deadly, charisma, cool and sexy but not slutty.
Bayonetta. The witch who hunt angels.
Mirror's Edge. Girl who use parkour to combat.
Chun Li. The first ever female fighter in the history of video game.
Lara Croft. The girl who armed double gun and a treasure hunter.

These female characters can bring new flavor to the game industry and attract more girl gamers to play. They also pave the way for future aspire game designers who wish to design female characters as strong and formidable. I am very inspired by the female role as they bring gentle touch to the masculine world in video games. Also, the inspiration of girl overcomes obstacle and challenges with amazing storyline is phenomenon. It is inspiring that human can do anything to protect something regardless of their gender. They may lack in physical strength compared to male counterpart but they made it up with agility and stamina longevity. It definitely has impact on  me as I am more supportive toward gender equality and being more respectful to my female course mates. As for action, I will design more female roles for my assignment as I wish some of them will make it to Triple A game companies. I wish more game developers are wiling to design female lead role's video game in the future.
Lighting is fighting God as a Girl.
